Dank Street Apartment in Alexandria responds to the constraints of an in-fill site and the rich history of warehouses in this well known street in Sydney. The design has a robust brick expression inspired by the warehouses in this precinct.
The design maximises the building envelope and plan efficiency whilst the cuts into this volume bring light and ventilation into the plan without compromising privacy on this tight site. The brick lined terrace defines and separates the commercial tenancy at the front and the garden apartments at the rear. The side setbacks are richly landscaped as 'borrowed space' to the ground floor spaces.
