Situated along the northern NSW coast, Tweed Heads enjoys a prime location near Coolangatta Airport, hospitals, and universities, with the Gold Coast to the north and Byron Bay to the south.The site of the existing Tweed Mall Shopping Centre offers a unique opportunity for urban renewal, benefiting from its connectivity to the Pacific Motorway, Gold Coast Airport, and a potential future extension of the Gold Coast Light Rail.

The current shopping centre serves as a vital hub of essential services for the community, and the new master plan aims to enhance this role through active place-making, community uplift, improved connectivity, and a range of diverse and affordable housing options. The vision is to transform the precinct into a destination for the Northern Rivers and Southern Gold Coast, highlighting the natural beauty of Tweed Heads alongside its developing urban character. CHROFI collaborated closely with the client, Turf Design Studio and the consultant team to navigate the design review panel process, ultimately securing approval for the concept development application. The project has garnered widespread support from Tweed City Council, which unanimously endorsed it in 2023
